What about Dust Mites?

What about Dust Mites?

Lets face it, dust mites are something we all live around. It’s apart of our day to day life. The average home has over two million dust mites and produce ten to twenty pieces of faeces per day.

These microscopic insects feast off skin cells and many other debris dropped in our carpets, upholstery, mattresses, pillows and drapery. This happens on a daily bases throughout our homes. Once again moisture is key.

When we sleep in our bed (nice and warm), we create humid moisture and dust mites thrive off this. In addition, they can double in numbers in 10 hours! So in the morning, air your bed for an hour or two before making it. This will help to keep these little critters at bay. 100,000 dead bodies and thirty million pieces of faeces are added to your home everyday. You cannot see these mite faeces and corpses by the human eye, because they are so small. As we walk around our home, we breathe them into our lungs from the air.

The average carpet cleaning machine is not going to be powerful enough, due to a lot of key factors missing. For example, steam, pressure and vast amounts of suction that an electric machine can hardly achieve to deal with destroying dust mites. Some people resort to buying products that JUST DON’T WORK!

As dust mites are almost impossible to kill, the few products that claim to have any effect on them just destroy the bacteria and fungi that make up their food. Follow the link and scroll down to Asthma and Allergy Care for more information to help you in these circumstances.
