When it comes to Steam cleaning my carpets…

Firstly, one of the advantages of hiring a professional carpet cleaner, is their very powerful equipment. It produces a massive volume of vacuum. This allows the carpets to dry much, much faster.  Secondly, there is a constant flow of pressurised, steaming hot water. Reaching temperatures that you can’t with machines you fill with hot water, or hire from D.I.Y. stores.

Commercial carpet cleaning works slightly different to what is high lighted in this post. Due to the difference in fibre construction, type and backings being used. In this case, the advice highlighted would not be completely accurate.

Steam helps sanitise in the carpet cleaning process

A hired piece of equipment can’t produce hot enough temperatures to sanitise. You can put hot water into the fresh water tank, but by the the time it comes out of the cleaning tool, it’s warm! Surely everybody knows, hot water cleans easier than cold.

So, when it comes to steam cleaning carpets…

This heat gives an overall safer and superior clean. Less chemicals are being used in the aid to break down soiling and stains. This in turn, adds to the fact more water is going to be used to flush contaminants out of your carpet. When using a shop bought domestic machine (or hired), one thing you do not want to do, is over wet the carpet! Not only will you end up delaminating the carpet backing, but you will most likely end up with mold growing in carpet!

The advantages of steam cleaning a carpet

Cleaning grease and grime rapidly and assisting in the drying time. Boiling hot water evaporates much faster, also helps in sanitising your soft furnishings. If we used steam just on its own, this vapourised water would not flush ingrained soil, dirt and other contaminants out of the depths of your carpets.
